Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong is currently seeking a talented individual for the role of Senior Manager, Partnerships & Development. Reporting to the Director of Growth & Governance, you will be responsible for strategic fundraising, corporate membership programme development, donor acquisition, donor stewardship and fundraising events. Working collaboratively across all teams, you will play a key role on the senior leadership team to drive organisational strategy, work with the Programmes team on strategic donor reporting and coordinate with the Finance team to generate sustainable and diverse revenue sources.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategy

  • Play a key role in organisational strategy development, working closely with the senior leadership team to develop implementation plans and champion change, growth, and governance across the organisation
  • Pilot and sustain fundraising cycles through the launch and growth of the corporate membership social impact programme and other projects you develop and lead
  • Set and achieve multi-year stretch goals, bringing others with you with clear expectations on the direction and alignment with the organisational strategic goals
  • Capture, track, mitigate and manage risks that would impact our ability to generate sustainable funding

Fundraising

  • Drive sustainable, diverse, and multi-year revenue generation through strategic partnerships and innovative fundraising initiatives
  • Develop, track and report on a healthy pipelines of grants
  • Work collaboratively with the Programmes team to ensure all donors proposals are mission aligned and programme deliverables and donor reporting are always on track
  • Lead creative online and offline events ranging from emergency crowdfunding campaigns to galas
  • Exemplify ownership of fundraising goals and demonstrate accountability

Donor Programme Development, Execution & Impact Measurement

  • Lead the launch and growth of the corporate membership social impact programme
  • Develop innovative fundraising and donor engagement initiatives to generate sustainable revenue
  • Build capacity within the team on relevant topic areas such as social impact and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting
  • Set up and track KPIs and Impact Measurement tools, track outcomes, define and evaluate the success of the corporate membership social impact programme and implement learnings for future programmes
  • Deliver timely and engaging reports for a range of audiences including the senior leadership team, Board of Directors, donors and Habitat for Humanity International

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Cultivate a strong network of stakeholders that you can readily tap into for the benefit of the organization and maximise stakeholder engagement opportunities through bringing in colleagues, committee members and board directors
  • Prepare compliant and legally sound donor agreements and sponsorship contracts and ensure all donor commitments are fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner
  • Be an ambassador and thought leader for Habitat Hong Kong with a diverse range of audiences including senior leaders and strategic partners including major donors, C-Suite executives, Board of Directors and Habitat for Humanity International
  • Develop and execute strategic, automated, and segmented donor engagement plans through Salesforce
  • Demonstrate impeccable stewardship and be accountable for donor communications that lead to increased donations from existing donors
  • Act as Staff Liaison for the Development Committee, prepare agendas and accompanying documents, present recommendations, and lead discussions during the meetings. Follow up on actions and learnings from committee members.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate closely with other teams such as Finance or Programmes, recognising that no one team can function in isolation
  • Encourage your direct reports to establish cross-team connections through role-modelling collaborate and communicative behaviours
  • Be accountable for process and policy development and implementation for policies that relate to fundraising and development, and that impact operations and behaviours across the teams

People Development

  • Role-model strategic thinking and encourage your direct reports to contribute to meaningful decision-making regardless of their position
  • Demonstrate emotional and cultural intelligence when managing others, and be able to detect and support any performance challenges
  • Actively seek and forge new learning and growth opportunities for direct reports and colleagues, demonstrating a growth mindset and instilling organizational values in those you manage
  • Work closely with your direct reports to remove barriers and position the team and the people in the team, to achieve their full potential
  • Be accountable for the employee experience of your direct reports from onboarding, coaching, and development and create a platform for transparent discussions around growth and capacity building opportunities

Note: The role, whilst clearly defined, is part of a fast-moving and evolving organisation and as such, the related responsibilities may need to adapt as the team grows. Any changes will be discussed with the individual but should be recognised as part of the exciting environment within which Habitat operates

Qualifications

  • Degree holder in relevant discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrable experience in non-profit partnership development, fundraising and stakeholder engagement
  • Candidates who are passionate about moving into the non-profit organisation sector and come with relevant experience gained from other sectors are also welcome

  • Negotiation: You are an experienced negotiator who excels in storytelling for persuasion that results in long-term funder support

  • Time Management: You thrive on being busy and seeing results from your actions and the actions of your direct reports. You have extensive experience prioritizing and managing conflicting priorities and you are at ease with coaching others to build their capacity in this area
  • Risk Management: You bring a thoughtful and analytical approach to project development and stay acutely aware of internal and external factors that could impact organisational goals, using your insights to inform mitigation actions and thinking creatively to pre-empt potential challenges

Languages

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Digital

  • You are proficient in PC operations (Microsoft based applications); knowledge of CRM systems such as Salesforce preferred
  • You are an early adopter and you’re interested in finding digital solutions to streamline operations

Desirable for the role

  • Excellent verbal communication skills in Cantonese
  • Excellent written communication skills in Traditional Chinese
  • Demonstrated examples of taking complex information and creating digestible, engaging project proposals
