Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing all HR processes and procedures to ensure HR operations are compliant with local laws, Habitat for Humanity International (“HFHI”) and Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong (“HFHHK”) internal policies & guidelines. You will play a key role in demonstrating our values of humility, courage, and accountability. You will be instrumental in building an inclusive and results-orientated culture.
You will be expected to be an excellent communicator across all stakeholders, role model inclusive and collaborative behaviours, and coordinate seamlessly with colleagues across the Habitat for Humanity network for best practice sharing & learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- HR Operations, Compensation, & Benefits
- Coordinate and support the CEO and Head of Finance and Compliance for all compensation and benefits processes including monthly payroll, MPF contribution administration and annual salary review exercise.
- Manage all HR processes including leave administration & reporting, employees’ compensation insurance, the annual employer tax return filing and on- and off-boarding.
- Source and coordinate the group medical & life insurance policy renewal & administration.
- Conduct benchmarking exercises for key roles to ensure market competitiveness.
- Work with CEO and Head of Finance and Compliance to plan the annual HR budget
- HR Policies & Compliance
- Work with the CEO and key stakeholders to develop, drive, and localise HR policies aligned to our values and vision, ensuring consistent compliance with local employment laws.
- Ensure a timely and accurate external audit process through supporting the Head of Finance and Compliance for all matters related to HR.
- Be accountable for timely and accurate internal & external reporting related to HR functions e.g., staff quarterly reports, annual operating plan, risk register, board reports, AP HR reports, staff cost reports for Finance/Partnerships/Programmes Teams to prepare their respective reports/proposals.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Management
- Work with CEO and team leads to determine appropriate resourcing needs, whilst managing end-to-end recruitment processes for all hiring.
- Develop and support intern and skills-based volunteering programmes aligned with resourcing needs for HFHHK.
- Prepare and conduct on-boarding and orientation to all new staff.
- Handling employment visa application and work permits for overseas hires.
- Performance Management, Staff Development & Culture
- Effectively implement and drive the annual job planning and performance evaluation process.
- Work with the CEO and senior leadership team to determine appropriate training and development interventions.
- Drive and support all engagement initiatives (e.g. engagement surveys, team activities) to promote a rewarding and engaging workplace.
- Act as a passionate ambassador for Habitat, proactively embedding our core values in all HR practice.
Note: The role, whilst clearly defined, is part of a fast-moving and evolving organisation and as such, the related responsibilities may need to adapt as the team grows. Any changes will be discussed with the individual but should be recognised as part of the exciting environment within which Habitat HK operates.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Qualifications
- Degree holder in HRM, organizational development, leadership development, or related discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years of HR management experience, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Candidates who are passionate about working in the non-profit sector and with relevant experience gained from other sectors/industries are also welcome to apply.
Skills
- Well-versed in HK Employment Ordinance, other related legislations, and HR best practices.
- Good knowledge of HR technical areas, such as talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, job evaluation, salary administration, performance management and staff development.

- A good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to collaborate cross-functionally and cross-culturally.

Languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese with Chinese an essential skillset for this role.
Digital
- Proficient in MS Office application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing).
- Able to early adopt and is interested in finding digital solutions to streamline operations. Working Hours
